Types of Golden Valley Rotary Club meetings
 
The meetings are fun and informative. Regular club meetings begin with networking over lunch. After club business, members typically hear a presentation from a speaker. The speakers are entertaining and informative. Some recent speakers include: Minnesota Twins TV announcer Dick Bremer, former U.S. Senator Dave Durenberger, founder and CEO of Summit Brewing Company, Mark Stutrud, and many more.
 
Regular meetings are every Tuesday at 12:15 p.m. at the Golden Valley Country Club, 7001 Golden Valley Rd., Golden Valley, MN 55427.
 
Tours to local companies and institutions occur in place of some regular meetings or at other times. Some examples: Courage Center, KARE-11, ATS&R Architects, Golden Valley Police and Fire Department, CRISIS Nursery, Honeywell, Perpich Center for Arts Education, Star Tribune production plant, Mpls. Garbage Burner, Recycling Plant in St. Louis Park, Liberty Carton-Golden Valley, Winkley Artificial Limb "Company-Golden Valley, Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank, and many others.
 
Joint meetings with other Rotary Clubs have featured large draw speakers like Will Steeger, polar explorer, the Governor of the State of Minnesota, Minnesota Senators, Sid Hartman, University of Minnesota Gopher's coaches,  Art Rolnick (former Mpls. Federal Reserve Bank Chairman), and many others.
 
Service activities have included packaging meals at Feed My Starving Children, cooking meals at Crisis Nursery, highway 55 cleanup, reading to elementary students, working with high school students with the STRIVE program and having club fund raiser activities.
 
Social activities have included sporting events like Twins or Saints baseball games, the Museum of Russian Art, plus Old Log Theater, Gutherie Theater, golf and holiday party events.
